Distribution of District Funding
Property taxes paid by District residents are used only for repayment of general obligation bonds, certain capital expenditures within the geographic boundaries of the El Camino Healthcare District, community benefit grants and sponsorships benefitting the El Camino Healthcare District and administrative expenses incurred by the District.
An annual audit is published to provide financial transparency. Funding distribution information is also available online.
Revenue collected is divided into two pieces:
- Property taxes that came into being when the District was formed – and it is divided into two further pieces:
- Community benefit program within the District and for capital expenditures for the El Camino Hospital Mountain View Campus only.
- The second piece of revenue supports the debt service of $148 million of General Obligation Bonds approved by the taxpayers in an election in 2003.
